Lady Joyful

Hello, I am Lady Joyful. Or if you prefer, Charlotte. That’s the name my parents gave me, in any case.

I would tell you my age but that would mean I have to remember to update this page occasionally…

Though I was born and grew up in the South-East of England I have lived in Finland now for a little over three years. Ever since I dropped out of a creative writing course at university (long story) and decided to live instead with my then boyfriend, now husband.

Fine. I’m 23.

A few facts about me:

I did ballet from the age of about three until I was ten or eleven, and took part in a number of ballet shows.

I was in a singing group.

I was a Goth for most of my teen-hood.

When I was born I had to go in an incubator.

During my early life I, on frequent occasions, “turned blue” and had to be rushed to hospital. Awkward child that I was.

When I was born doctors apparently thought I may have pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. (Although wikipedia tells me that it’s not actually a real thing, just a really really long word. So… yeah.)

I once found a tiny spider on my windowsill. He became my pet. I called him “Spinny”.

I am terrified of spiders.

I don’t read books, I devour them.

I am a chocoholic. Or perhaps was. I’m weaning off…

I love animals. As long as they don’t have too many legs and eyes, and mandibles…

When I was in school cookery was among my least favourite subjects. Now I love cooking. Most of the time.

I am passionate about writing, and try to write frequently. It doesn’t happen as often as I’d like. Must try harder.

I am a knowledge sponge. I love to learn new things, and try to do so often.

I am currently studying a to become a nurse.

If there’s anything you’d like to know about me, drop a question in the comments. The more interesting and unusual the question, the more likely I’ll answer!
