As with yesterday’s picture, today’s shows that it’s the little things that can really make a picture work. Imagine this picture without the man paddling along. Without that pop of colour. It would just be the grey-brown water. Nothing special. A bit boring really.
The walk we took last week (the one that has provided all the recent pictures for this series!) was right by the island that the zoo is on. This picture shows that island. And you can see one of the giant bears that live there!
More trees! And some rocks too. There’s even a puddle there, towards the bottom centre of the image. Lots and lots of moss as well. We did go clambering up over the rocks a little way. I was a bit wary of doing so, but as husband pointed out they were dry so not particular…
It would appear that I enjoy photographing trees. But how could I resist this one? Perhaps it’s more shrub than tree… But anyway, a windswept tree on a rocky shore, backed by steely ice water with a dark vision of land appearing through the mist beyond. Something about that is very appealing.
