A Hard Day’s Work

Yesterday may have been an unexpected day off, but that doesn’t change the fact that I am having a very busy week. I’m determinedly (but not entirely successfully) trying to catch up on NaNoWriMo. I’m making sure I keep on top of NaBloPoMo. And I’m working long hours at work.

Today, for example, I worked a ten hour day. Sure it was split into three parts (job location 1, then 2, then back to 1), and it was almost entirely childcare (so doing crafts, playing with the children, reading to them), but it was pretty exhausting.

The rest of the week I am scheduled for slightly longer than normal days too. In fact, even with having had the whole day off yesterday, I will end the week only an hour short of my target weekly hours. Yes, really.

I know some people (okay, husband and my mum, and actually my job 2 employer) have expressed concerns about me getting overworked. Yes, this week I have long hours. But most weeks I’ve actually ended up short on hours. I get paid a flat rate so it doesn’t affect my wage either way. I don’t feel overworked, generally speaking.

But I do feel completely exhausted today. Which is why this is all the blog post you’re getting. Sorry!

Love,

Lady Joyful
